When sanitation and cleaning-crew supervisors think about steps to ensure their employees are safe while cleaning the inside and outside of meat and poultry plants, their thoughts probably center on protective equipment and clothing. After all, donning personal protective gear and equipment, including hard hats, spectacles, goggles, face shields, helmets, glasses with side shields, gloves, fire-retar-dant clothing and other items can protect workers from serious accidents and injuries.
