Research in Nondestructive Evaluation On the World Wide Web

The World Wide Web (WWW) is an extended data base that exists on the Internet, the so-called information superhighway (Krol, 1994; LaQuey, online). Software packages, such as NCSA's Mosaic or IBM's Explorer, provide a simple, easy-to-use interface to access the collective computerized information data bases comprising the Web (PC Magazine, 1994). Some have even predicted that the WWW will lead to the electronic dissemination of the information that today is printed in journals. Indeed, "publishing without paper" was the claim of a recent headline (PC Magazine, 1994). Research in Nondestructive Evaluation is the research journal of ASNT, published by Springer-Verlag.
