Damen is pleased to announce that a shipbuilding contract for five 42 meter catamaran passenger ferries was signed with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, on behalf of operator Istanbul Deniz Otobusu (IDO) in late 2005. This important contract was awarded to Damen Shipyards Gorinchem in an international tender procedure, following the submission of a fully compliant technical proposal with the lowest price offer by Damen in July 2005.
