LD Lines acquires Ineat ferry for service in Europe

France's LD Lines will begin operating the largest ever fast ferry on the cross channel routes between Dover, England and Boulogne, France on May 29. The112m catamaran will be the first-ever freight carrying high-speed vessel to operate across the Dover Straits and LD Lines becomes the first-ever French ferry company to operate high-speed ferries on the short sea routes from Dover. The vessel is also the world's largest dieselpowered catamaran (at least for now, see "Austal receives order for largest catamaran to date" on next page) and it is the first Incat 112m to operate in Europe.
