FMS deal for VT Halter

The U.S. Navy recently awarded a $165.4 million firm-fixed contract modification to VT Halter Marine, Inc., Pascagoula, Miss., for the detail, design, and construction of the fourth Egyptian Navy Fast Missile Craft under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program. The vessel will be delivered in December 2013.rnFabrication of the first 63m Egyptian Fast Missile Craft (FMC) began Nov. 30, 2009 at the Pascagoula shipyard, according to the U.S. Navy's Program Executive Office (PEO). The first FMC will join the Egyptian Navy fleet in 2012. It will operate on patrol in the Red Sea, Mediterranean Sea and the Suez Canal, providing coastal protection.
