New fast cats to use 'ground effect' technology

BGV international has unveiled new versions of its wave-piercing trimaran concept―the BGV N188L and BGV 133L―which are aimed at the growing market for high speed naval logistics and sealift vessels. The BGV design concept is based on a particularly slender displacement hull, with a low level of resistance, with transverse stability provided by aft outriggers, a 'pseudo-trimaran' concept that gives the craft a high level of stability and seakeeping, whilst also taking advantage of the lift provided by the 'ground effect' phenomenon.
