Sir - I read with interest the Troublespot in the MER of June 2012, with reference to the general cargo ship Saffier and her collision with the Svitzer Ferribly. This was caused by an uncontrolled full astern move- ment. Reading excerpts from the report, they have not been able to resolve the problem and are considering replacing all the electronic components.
