Preserving Music History

摘要

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum Library and Archives is the most comprehensive repository of materials relating to the history of rock and roll. Our mission is to collect, preserve, and provide access to these resources in order to broaden awareness and understanding of the music, its roots, and its impact on our society. As the archives' audiovisual archivist, I am responsible for preserving and digitizing analog audio and video materials, creating metadata for digitized video and audio, developing finding aids for and facilitating donations of AV archival collections, and providing reference assistance to researchers both on- and off-site. The focus of the job is the preservation and digitization of analog materials in the collections.
