New Public Libraries System Model and Information Society Technology in Turkey

摘要

Expanding means of public library systems, raising their quality and making them wide-spread are among the priorities of these systems all around the world. Today even countries that have some of the most developed public library systems looked up to with envy, question their systems. For instance, in the USA, many institutions ranging from the Presidency to Congress and non-governmental organisations develop public library system policies, generate opinions and pressure groups. Also in Europe, public library systems are questioned in member countries of the European Union (EU) and in candidate countries.
