Reply to comment of Mazzoli and Martin-Algarra

The publication under discussion analyses the localisation of deformation in the Ronda peridotites and the influence of the Theological contrast between the crustal and mantle rocks on the evolution of deep-seated ductile shear zones. It also brings together the structural, kinematic and petrological data that have been produced by our working group since the 1980s. Finally, the last part of the discussion (Section 5.2) presents a concise tectonic integration of these data. The comment by Mazzoli and Martin-Algarra concerns only part of the tectonic interpretation. We acknowledge that they otherwise consider our work to be an excellent contribution, and we welcome the opportunity to further clarify some of the regional aspects discussed briefly in our work.
