NAHRO's 2008 Legislative Conference kicked off on March 31 with a keynote address from David Gergen, Editor-at-Large of U.S. News & World Report and regular television commentator, Gergen spoke about the upcoming election and the spirit of today's youth, saying that "the subject of change and dealing with people who have been left behind is very much back on the agenda of young people. It is not back on the nation's agenda." Gergen also spoke directly to housing, sharing that he wrote his senior paper at Harvard on the issue of public housing.
