Jelis Connections

The Journal of Education for Library and Information Science(JELIS), the official scholarly publication of the Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE), enters the golden anniversary year. This celebration article provides a brief history of the creation of the journal and an introduction to the editors. Selected past and current examples of the journal's physical format changes, content scope, and connections to professional affiliations and institutions are presented. Reflections from the current co-editors, Burnett and Kazmer, on the original goals of the journal (published in 1960) are included.
