Preface to 'Extending Naturalistic Decision Making: Reaching Across Domains, Disciplines, and Applications, Part 2'

We are delighted to include four high-quality articles in this second part of the special issue "Extending Naturalistic Decision Making: Reaching Across Domains, Disciplines, and Applications." The articles describe four applications of cognitive task analysis (CTA) addressing complex problems. They provide stimulating examples of how CTA methods can be used to (a) support organizational transformation; (b) design decision support in complex, high-risk settings; (c) capture cognitive strategies used by experienced personnel to inform training; and (d) extend our understanding of the nature of cue use in dynamic settings such as professional sports. These articles demonstrate the impact that the naturalistic decision making (NDM) community continues to have on other research disciplines and applied domains.
