An Overview of Aircraft Systems Cyber Security

Take some commercially available servers, routers, switches, wireless devices, laptops, tablets, smartphones, embedded software, and display units; mix with control systems' logic boards, sensors, actuators, human machine interface systems, digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital converters; and add multiple wireless interfaces, digital interfaces, and global interoperability. Wrap all this in a tube, slap some wings, tail feathers, and one or more engines on it; stuff it with fuel, people, baggage, and/or freight and then let it, and many others like it, launch into the air (with or without a pilot onboard) and fly around the world including over folks that don't like us very much.
