OAO NPO Strela develops UAV-mounted SAR

Joint Stock Company Almaz-Antey's subsidiary OAO NPO Strela has partnered with Minsk, Belarus-based Indela to develop an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based radar system. Development of the system began in mid-2012, with OAO NPO Strela responsible for the radar system elements and Indela providing its I.N.SKY UAV. The radar system has two working modes - synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and moving target indicator - and is fitted on the underside of the air vehicle.
