USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN THE MEDICAL SERVICE OF THE ROYAL NETHERLANDS NAVY

Until today, the Medical Service of the Royal Netherlands Navy is still supported by a largely manual information system. However this information supply of the Medical Service is now undergoing a process of change. Solutions have been found to re-develop the information supply of primary processes into a modern setting. This lecture contains the following subjects: 1. The reasons to rebuild the information supply; 2. The approach to the realization of the automation project; 3. The design of the new medical information system; 4. Hardware implications.%Jusqu'à ce jour, le service médical de la Marine Royale néerlandaise utilise un système d'informations principalement manuel. Cependant, ce système de captation et de transmission des informations est en voie de transformation. Ses principes sont décrits. Le présent article développe les points suivants : 1. les raisons pour réformer et rebâtir le système de fourniture des informations, 2. l'approche utilisée pour réaliser le projet d'informatisation, 3. le concept du nouveau système de stockage des informations médicales, 4. les implications en matière d'appareils et d'équipement.
