Strong leadership needed to achieve CO_2 reduction targets

USING technology to increase capacity is one of the initiatives set out in IRJ's 12-point plan to achieve a carbon-neutral railway (IRJ January p12). Digitalisation is going to play an important role in helping railways to carry more passengers and freight without having to invest huge sums of money in the time-consuming process of laying additional tracks and expanding stations.
