The present study is based on the examination of samples, which were obtained from the AlSi10Mg powder using the selective laser melting (SLM) technology. The experimental samples were printed in horizontal and vertical directions, as well as at an angle of 45 degrees relative to the building platform. In the course of experimental examinations the mechanical characteristics of the material during tension, compression, and flexure were obtained. An electron probe microanalysis was applied for microstructure examination. During the mechanical testing of each sample a stress-strain curve was obtained for each of the testing modes. According to the test results, the samples which were printed in the horizontal direction have the largest values of ultimate strain for tension; the samples printed in the vertical direction have the largest values of the ultimate tensile strength, Young's modulus for flexure, yield stress for flexure and compression. The samples which were printed at an angle of 45 degrees are characterized by the largest values of the modulus of elasticity for tension and the yield stress for tension. Before the flexure tests the surface roughness evaluation was done for each sample and each side of the samples. The lowest roughness value is found in the samples which were printed at an angle of 45 degrees.
