摘要

Novel low cost Ferrocene/Ferrocenium (Fc/Fc(+)) was studied as the cathode redox couple for room temperature Fc/Li non-aqueous liquid battery, exhibiting decent rate capability, cycle stability and electrochemical reversibility for energy storage application. The output voltage of Fc/Li battery reaches 3.2 V, which is much higher than the batteries operated with aqueous electrolyte. Besides that, the energy conversion efficiency of the Fc/Li battery reached over 70% at even 20C (10 mA cm(-2)), rendering it quite promising for commercial application.
