Constructing a model for the adoptability of using e-government services in developing countries: the case of Egypt

摘要

In our previous paper, the factors affecting citizens' adoption of using e-government services were presented. They are then classified into three categories: 1) individual factors which encompass four constructs, i.e., awareness, perceived ease of use, trust and compatibility; 2) governmental factors consisting of two constructs, that are, political issues and information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure; 3) service factors which include two constructs, namely, communication channels and service cost. This paper is assigned to test and validate the proposed factors; a model for the adoptability of using e-government services will be constructed. A sample of 402 students completed a questionnaire. The questionnaire measured the above eight constructs and two of them were merged, namely, political issues and ICT infrastructure as e-government readiness. Initial analysis for those seven constructs indicated that the service cost, e-government readiness and trust, respectively, are the main reasons that decrease the adaptability of using e-government services.
