The US high-yield market had its slowest week of the year for primary deals last week, with just three deals printing for a combined US$975m. But bankers hope the market will come back with a bang after Labor Day following the first inflow to high-yield funds in five weeks. One syndicate banker said at least US$30bn-$40bn in high-yield bond supply is expected in September. Lipper reported US$680m coming back into high yield for the week ending Wednesday, bringing some relief to a market that has been hit by around US$13bn of outflows over the past month. The market had a firmer tone even before the data was released, with the CDX HY 22 index holding steady around 107.8.
