China, UK vow to speed up stock-connect scheme

China and Britain have vowed to speed up the introduction of the London-Shanghai stock-connect programme. UK Chancellor Philip Hammond, speaking at a press conference in Beijing alongside Chinese Vice-Premier Ma Kai, said the two countries were discussing a long-awaited London-Shanghai stock-connect programme, as well as a possible scheme to link their bond markets.
