Canada Plan Would Let Quebec Enforce Federal Standards for Wastewater Regulation

Quebec's wastewater effluent laws and regulations provide controls equivalent in effect to those in the federal Wastewater Systems Effluent Regulations, and a proposed administrative agreement between the two levels of government would permit the province to enforce the federal rules, Environment Canada said. The proposal was announced in a notice accompanying the draft order in the March 21 issue of the Canada Gazette, Part Ⅰ.
