Rambus has been a key smartcard and back-office technology provider for public transport for many years. We have already seen huge progress in the transition from paper tickets to smartcard-based ticketing, but we are still in the early stages of creating a truly frictionless travel experience with secure mobile ticketing. If all we have done is move from a paper ticket to a digital ticket -without changing the way we interact with passengers and travel data - then we have missed a huge opportunity.
