World Cement Production 2009

The world's cement production was only about 10 million tons in 1900. In the year 2000, it was slightly greater than 1.5 billion tons. Now, according to the latest figures from CEMBUREAU, in 2009 it is 3 billion tons (Figure 1). This means the growth achieved in about last one-decade almost equals that in the previous 100 years of cement production.
