Discusses the need for Technical Writing (TW) & provides a definitional analysis of TW. Highlights the characteristics & principles of TW, difficulties in TW, TW vi's-a-vis Library & Information Professionals, Reader- Writer relationships and Aberrations in TW with particular reference to Content readability & Technical style and presentation. Outlines the prerequisites for TW and provides basic guidelines and steps involved in TWwith emphasis on points to be considered in the presentation of information in Technical Communications-Abstracts, Technical Reports, Review article /State-of-the-art report/Monographs, etc. Some examples related to TWare given in the annexure.
