Relax, political junkies -- more elections are coming

Feeling withdrawal now that the 2014 midterm election cycle is (almost) over? Do battles between would-be presidential contenders seem too far off? Then it's a good thing it's nearly 2015. While there are no congressional elections next year, and presidential primary candidates aren't likely to launch formal bids until the summer, voters in a quintet of states will decide gubernatorial contests, state legislative races or both, and a number of large cities will host mayoral elections. Those races aren't likely to draw the same kind of spending or crowd the airwaves in the way the midterm congressional races did, but they could nonetheless offer up interesting competitions.
