Even as politics continues to impede Chennai's first mega desalination project, the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group plans to invest around $2 billion in a multi-product export zone in the southern part of Greater Chennai, integrated with a 1000-megawatt power and desalination plant - the third such desalination proposal for a water-starved city of six million.
