In recent years, Geoinformation Business Netherlands (GBN), the umbrella organisation for the private sector within the Dutch geoinformation (GI) industry, has been regularly publishing a market monitor reporting on the size and activities of the GI industry in The Netherlands. One of the most recent reports estimated that the sector currently employs somewhere between 8,000 and 9,000 people and generates an annual turnover of some EUR900 x 106.
