On the one hand, there is the negative effect of artificial light on certain animal species, bats being one of the most obvious.rnOn the other hand, it seems that not all species are affected the same way and the relationship between them and light is a complex one. The issues are compounded by there being a significant lack of meaningful research, and where there is research much of it appears to be inconclusive or to produce unusual answers.
