The impact of mining activities over flora and fauna at Jiu'Valley, Romania

摘要

This paper presents the main pollution sourcesgenerated by mining industry and their effects over Jiu's naturalflora and fauna. It is pointed out that the most importantpollution factor is given by the atmospheric polluters and theirspreading on large areas. This paper is built on systematicquantitative and qualitative evaluations over the forestvegetation and natural fauna. The researches over fauna havebeen extended during the last 15 years and those regarding thehealth of the natural vegetation begun in 1990 using the forest Monitoring.
