Developed rapidly during the Vietnam conflict, the Bell AH-1G Huey Cobra was conceived as an agile and hard-hitting helicopter for air-to-ground assault. It was born out of the famous UH-1 'Huey (officially named the Iroquois) battlefield transport, using the same turboshaft engine, rotor and rear fuselage.
