ITMA, Birmingham, U.K. from 22nd to 29th of October, 2003 14th International Textile Machinery Exhibition

At this years' ITMA, short for the 14th International Textile Machinery Exhibition, about 1275 exhibitors from 40 countries participated. The biggest part of the exhibition space, in percent, was taken up by Italy, followed by Germany and Switzerland. Other countries in the top 10 list of exhibitors were Spain, Belgium, Turkey, the U.K., France and Austria. Largest non-European exhibitor were the USA on 9th place. This year, the largest product area, counting for one third of the entire exhibition space, were machinery and equipment all about dyeing and finishing of textiles. Parallel to the fair, the ITMA forum offered two trade lectures daily during the entire exhibition time to deal with actual topics. For instance, one report was about innovations in the area of technical textiles and another lecture headlined the increasing expansion of the Asian countries in the textile- and apparel sectors.
