Acordis Kelheim GmbH announced that, retrospectively effective 1st August 2004 EQUI-Fibres GmbH has acquired 100% ownership of Acordis Kelheim GmbH from the Acordis Group. The change of ownership will have no effect on the production of viscose and acrylic fibres at the Kelheim location. "Our stated objective is not only to continue production of viscose and acrylic fibres, but to build on and expand the strengths of the Kelheim operation as a supplier of high quality fibres," explained Jobst-H. Peterek on behalf of the representatives of EQUI-Fibres. Kelheim had successfully secured a position in the market as an independent, medium-sized company and was therefore able, as a result of its lean and flexible operation, to master the challenges of an increasingly global fibre industry. The senior management in Kelheim had done sterling work in recent years and would therefore be given the responsibility for taking the company forward on its successful course.
