Bombardier quashes CS500 rumours

Despite reports to the contrary, Bombardier has no immediate interest in a larger variant of the CSeries family, often referred to as the CS500. "There is no CS500 in sight," Colin Bole, senior vice-president of sales and marketing for Bombardier Commercial Aircraft, told Flight International at the Regional Airline Association's annual convention in Charlotte. In 2010, Bombardier trade-marked aircraft designations for the "CS500" and "CS900". These lapsed in 2014, according to the Canadian Intellectual Property Office. Yet speculation has continued about the possibility Bombardier might add a third and larger member to the family, to join the 110- seat CS100 and 135-seat CS300.
