Guan Peng Li has been promoted to president of Sinotrans after serving and holding senior executive positions at the company and its subsidiaries for 25 years. Li joined Sinotrans at its Huangpu unit (Sinotrans Guangdong) in 1989. He became general manager of Zhuhai Shipping Agency in 1994 and of Guangdong Shipping Agency in 1998. In September 1999, Li accepted the position of the vice-general manager of Sinotrans Guangdong.
