摘要

Analysis of chromium concentration in the vicinity of the tannery waste lagoon showed that: 1. The total chromium concentration in soils is different inside and outside the storage basin, and depends on the distance from the lagoon and on the soil layer. Inside the lagoon the concentration of chromium reached 15232 mg kg~(-1) in the upper soil layer, but even outside the lagoon the chromium concentration in soil was as high as 3268 mg kg~(-1). 2. The chromium absorption from the soil by plants depends on the plant spe- cies. The highest chromium concentration was detected in the stalks of rye (Secale cereale) growing on the field in the vicinity of the waste lagoon. 3. Chromium in the plants is not uniformly distributed. Its concentration in stalks of rye was 10 times higher than in the ears.
