In terms of overall resources, the availability of support for exports of U.S. environmental technologies and services by federal and quasi-federal agencies and organizations is somewhat trimmer today than it used to be in the mid- to late 1990s. The Environmental Export Council, a focal organization for export activity during the 1990s, is nowhere to be found, and organizations like the U.S.-Asia Environmental Partnership (US-AEP) have cut staff, narrowed their missions, and been entirely absorbed by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
