This topical index provides references to all material in the ENVIRONMENT REPORTER FEDERAL LAWS and FEDERAL REGULATIONS binders. Citations are provided to the United States Code (USC) and U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) to facilitate research. The phrase "et seq." is used to indicate a consecutive series of three or more relevant documents or subsections of documents or to indicate a series of three or more pages relating to the subject entry. The number preceding the colon in page citations indicates the binder tab number, the number after the colon is the page number within the tab, e.g., 21:1401. Citations to the CFR are followed by a 3-digit tab number. A guide to regulations by CFR citations is found on page 91:1001. This index is arranged alphabetically letter-by-letter. For example, the heading Coastal areas precedes the heading Coast Guard. Chemical substances are followed by Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) Registry Numbers, e.g., Methylene chloride (75-09-2). Numbers are treated as if spelled out, therefore "2015" will appear in the "Ts." Cross-references assist users by linking related information within the index. They refer researchers from one topic heading to another topic heading or to a subheading under another topic heading where relevant information is found. They also suggest related topic headings.
