The recent snow, which has made it something of a challenge to bring you this edition of SB, has brought with it the predictable scoffs about global warming. "If global warming was really happening, why have we got all this snow?" sneer friends, colleagues and relatives. Global warming isn't a particularly helpful description for what's happening to our planet. Yes, it is warming up, but it is the changing climate that points to the globe's destruction. Be sure to set things straight when you're no doubt confronted by similar nonsense rejections of climate change.
