A slew of recent developments have occurred in the network-processing segment. Among them: AMCC has announced initial shipments of its nP7510, a 10-Gbps network processor that scales from Fast Ethernet and OC-3 to 10-Gbps Ethernet and OC-192 packet-over-SONET and ATM applications. Available in a 1428-pin flip-chip BGA, the nP7510 costs $700 (10,000).
