Not criminal, just hopeful

In France the nation's youth marched for the right to work half-heartedly and not be sacked. By contrast, hundreds of thousands of immigrants in more than 100 American cities marched for a chance to work hard and not be deported. The French demonstrators forced their government to back down (see page 40). The mostly Latino masses on America's streets, despite impressive numbers, less violence and a worthier cause, are still some way from victory.
