"Even form is colour. Without colour, there isn't form. Form and colour are one", stated Johannes Itten, painter and teacher of the famous Bauhaus, in the 1920s. The exhibition at the Musée des arts décoratifs in Bordeaux (29.6-5.11.2017) makes tangible the bond between colour and design with an installation by Pierre Charpin, hosted in a special place, the old city prison on Rue Boulan, transformed into the museum's warehouse and storage, reopened last September. Don't miss the excursion to the nearby Cité Frugès designed by Le Corbusier in Pessac, for an up-close experience of colour and architecture.
