ANPAD and the institutionalization process of the Brazilian scientific community on managementANPAD y el proceso de institucionalización de la comunidad científica brasile?a de Administración

A scientific community consists of interaction among people who share values, norms of conduct, common behaviors, that is, institutionalized standards on how to produce and reproduce knowledge and technologies in a given field of knowledge. As a general rule, scientific communities are self-regulating, insofar as their members are organized around associations or societies, which define spaces of action and paradigms on how to undertake science in the field of interest, against a background of certain transverse patterns of conduct applied to different fields of scientific knowledge. This article aims to discuss the role of the Associa??o Nacional de Pós-Gradua??o e Pesquisa em Administra??o (ANPAD) in the activities of scientific publication and regulation of the Brazilian scientific community of administration, and how these activities have contributed to the institutionalization process of this community. This process is analyzed in its historical context, the main achievements of ANPAD are discussed and the main challenges for this community in their consolidation process are stated.
