摘要

Since the term of “rise of China” first appeared in the early 2000s, there has seen mushroomingacademic works in a variety of forms, from journal papers and think-tank reports to researchmonographs and books. Any new pieces of work bearing this term or on this topic would easilyinvite skepticism about whether we need “another one.” Moreover, publications that claim variousperspectives are quite often disappointing and are no more than a loose and uncoordinatedcompilation of essays that lack focus.
