Regardingthe Letter to the Editor written by Dr. DiegoGarcía-Compean related to the article ?Bowel obstructiondue to capsule endoscopy in a patient with Peutz-Jegherssyndrome?by Roesch-Dietlen et al., 1 we completely agreewith his comments on how to prevent, diagnose, andmanage that complication, and would like to add thefollowing:Withouta doubt, video capsule (VC) retention is the mostdreaded event of the procedure, with an overall prevalenceof2%, especially in patients with diseases that affect thecaliberof the intestinal lumen. However, when the decisionwasmade to perform the study, there were no signs or symp-toms suggestive of obstruction, which was why we did notconsider itpertinent to carry out bowel transit or computedtomography with oral contrast medium, or use the degrad-ableAgile capsule, in addition to the fact that unfortunatelysaid capsule is not available in Mexico and its results are stillcontroversial.
