History of EISCAT – Part 3: The early history of EISCAT in Norway

The paper describes the Norwegian participation in the EISCATproject during the first years of planning the facility. This includesobtaining the support of the relevant research groups as well as thepossible funding agencies. Attention is also given to strengthening thecompetence and capacity of the potential user groups, along with taking partin the cooperation with the participating groups in other countries.
