Abstract:Objective To understand the current situation of empathy among nursing undergraduates, and to investigate its influencing factors. Methods 〓A quantitative study was conducted to investigate 300 undergraduate students from a certain university in Luoyang by using the Chinese version of Jefferson Empathy Scale. Results 〓Totally 262(94.93%)questionnaires were valid for the final analysis. The average score of empathy was(106.12 ±16.08)points, and there was a significant difference among students with different grades(P0.05). Results 〓Nursing undergraduates displayed a moderate level of empathy in this study. The grade is a potential influencing factor of empathy among nursing undergraduates.
