:Objective To understand the cognitive emotion and coping styles of nursing students on the workplace horizontal violence. Methods 〓Based on the principle of repeated sampling to repeat saturation, totally 12 nursing students were collected from five three-level first-class hospitals in Lanzhou by purposeful sampling. The data were collected using semi-structured interviews, and analysis was performed using a combination of generic analysis and situational analysis. Results 〓The cognitive emotion and coping styles of nursing students on the horizontal violence were catergorized into eight generic genus, and finally integrated into three core genus: definition, adaptation, and negative influence. The results of situational analysis revealed that most of nursing students negatively coped with horizontal violence. Conclusion 〓Nursing students are lack of cognition or overreacted for horizontal violence, and they ususlly take restrained or negative methods to cope with it. Therefore, it is necessary for the relevant departments to take a certain intervention on nursing students with different internship stages and different psychological behavior characteristics.
