Abstract:Hirschsprung's disease is a birth defect in which nerves are missing from parts of the intestine. The most prominent symptom of Hirschsprung's disease is constipation, and the treatment is generally by surgery to remove the affected section of bowel. The high-quality peri-operative nursing management is a key issue to improve the success of operation and postoperative rehabilitation. This paper reviewed the interventions on preoperative examination, bowel preparation, perianal care, nutrition guide and continuing nursing care, in order to improve the nursing quality for pediatric patients with radical excision for congenital Hirschsprung's disease.
